Job policy announcement reflects inconsistency in decision making

[ April 27, 2015 ]

Dear Editor The decision of the new recruitment policy taken by the State Cabinet in its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed created a flutter and under pressure from all quarters Finance Minister unfortunately the architect of new job policy had to make a statement that routine recruitment exercises will be undertaken by Services Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) and Public Service Commission (PSC) as usual and the new recruitment policy will be restricted to selection of 15000 posts on contractual basis. Since governor had to issue an ordinance to enforce the new recruitment policy the Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu has an administrative obligation to clarify that whether ordinance will be issued by the governor as recommended by the cabinet or not. The carification on issuing of an ordinance by the governor from the state government can only satisfy the agitating youth and angered public in the state. Nazir Ahmad Khan Safakdal Srinagar
