MLA Ramban inaugurates Kisan Mela

Says ‘Govt brings people friendly policies’

Ramban/March,27: One Day Kissan Mela Cum Agricultural Exhibition organised by Agriculture Department Ramban was inaugurated by chief guest of program MLA, Ramban Neelam Kumar Langeh, Monday in the premises of Agriculture Complex Maitra.
Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Muhammad Aijaz was also present in the function.

Bali, Chief Animal Husbandry Department, Dr Javeed Katoch, District Agriculture Officer, K.K Koul, District Soil Conservation Officer, A.H. Salaria including many other district heads and large gathering of farmers took part in the mela.
The MLA and DDC inspected the stalls of items displayed by the various departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Sericulture departments and other line departments. Modern farming machinery and Biogas plant was also displayed.
Speaking on the occasion MLA said Government is working on people-friendly policies for overall development and up-lift of poor and weaker sections of the society.
He assured the farmers for timely supply of hybrid quality of seeds and fertilisers at their door steps. In this regard he also directed Chief Agriculture Officer for organising such camps at block and Tehsil level.
DDC besides focussing on diversification of cultivation, appealed the farmers for adopting modern techniques of agriculture and horticulture in order to yield high quality and quantity of production. He also stressed on bringing local water resources under the ambit of irrigation.
He also appealed the farmers for using new tools like diesel Hal, grass cutting machines and many other types of equipment which are playing major role in reducing manual labour
Chief Agriculture Officer highlighted various ongoing schemes and programs like availability of subsidised seeds, restoration of damaged irrigation canals, intensification of organic farming, establishment of bio gas units, and work for introducing Prime Minister Krishi Sanchai Yojana and pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in the district.
