Iran to host first International Tehran Marathon in April

Tehran: The Islamic Republic of Iran Athletics Federation (IRIAF) is going to host the first edition of International Tehran Marathon early next month, with dozens of competitors from different countries having already expressed their readiness to participate in the event, Press TV reported.

The tournament, scheduled on April 7 under the motto of “I Run Iran,” will feature contenders in 10 Kilometers, 21 Kilometers, and 42 Kilometers road running competitions.
The champion of the 10K run will be awarded $1,000 cash prize. The runner-up will be paid $700, while the third-finisher will earn $500.
The title winner of the 21K event will get $1,500, while the 2nd place will receive $1,000. The third person on the podium will collect $500.
In the 42K marathon, the victor will be awarded $3,000. The second to sixth finishers will pocket $2,500, $2,000, $1,500, $1,000, and $500 respectively.
