DEO Kulgam reviews bye-poll preparedness

Kulgam/March, 20: District Election Officer Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat Monday chaired a meeting to review bye-election preparedness for the Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency in the district.
The meeting was informed that the First Level Checking of the Electronic Voting Machines is going on and so far 681 ballot units and 29 control units have been covered.
It was said training of election staff has commenced from Monday at four venues in the district.
On the occasion, the DEO directed the Nodal Officers to submit detailed plans regarding transport and communication. It was given out that teams for implementing model code of conduct, flying squads, media certification, expenditure monitoring have already been constituted. The DEO directed for coordination among all the teams for smooth and hassle free conduct of elections in the district.
He also called for strict adherence of guidelines of the Election Commission of India and asked the designated Nodal Officers, Sectoral and Zonal Magistrates to work with due diligence while conducting the election affairs.
