Srinagar/March,18: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief Yasin Malik was shifted to the Central jail Srinagar on a 12-day remand, said a spokesman.
Yasin Malik was arrested on Saturday from his office in Abi Guzar area of Srinagar, said a spokesman.
A spokesman said that a police party cordoned off the JKLF office in Abi Guzar and arrested Malik.
The move, he said, is aimed at preventing the JKLF chief from carrying out an election boycott campaign.
“Yasin Sahib who has been ill from last many days and is on high antibiotics was immediately presented before the 2nd Additional Sessions Judge who ordered to send him on a 12-day judicial remand to Central jail Srinagar,” said the spokesman.
