LA Panel for timely action on Govt Assurances pertaining to RDD

Jammu/ March,17: The Committee on Government Assurances of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Friday examined the Action Taken Reports on the Assurances given by the Rural Development Department (RDD) on the floor of the House from time to time.
The Committee, which met here under the Chairmanship of MLA, Vikar Rasool Wani, directed the concerned to take immediate steps to fill up all vacancies including the posts of Block Development Officers in RDD to improve the working of the department.
Legislators, Javed Hassan Beigh, Mohammad Abbas Wani, Dina Nath and Asgar Ali Karbalaie attended the meeting and gave their suggestions regarding the functioning of the RDD and also highlighted the developmental issues of their respective Constituencies.
The panel stressed upon the concerned authorities to ensure timely providing of financial assistance sanctioned under Centrally Sponsored Schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY).
Secretary, Rural Development Department, Kifayat Hussain Rizvi briefed the Committee about the Action Taken Reports on the Government Assurances given by the department on the floor of the House from time to time. He assured the meeting that all necessary steps would be taken to fulfil the all Government Assurances pertaining to RDD at an earliest.
The Committee directed them to fulfil all Government Assurances pertaining to RDD given by the Government on the Floor of the House from time to time in a time bound manner.
Among others, Director Rural Sanitation, M M Rehman, CEO IWMP, R A Inqlabi, besides Senior Officers of RDD and Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.
