Speaker Assembly, MoS Edu inaugurate refurbished Club Park at Gandhi Nagar
Rs 10.25 lakh spent on renovation, Speaker urges people to help maintain such facilities

Jammu/March,16: As a sequel to facilitate people with better recreational facilities, Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta and Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi inaugurated Club Park at Gandhi Nagar, here Thursday.
The park has been refurbished at a cost of Rs 10.25 lakh which includes installation of fountain and fresh ornamental plants.
Secretary Tourism and Floriculture Farooq Ahmad Shah and Director Floriculture Jammu Manisha Devi Sharma were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said the Government is laying focused attention to create durable infrastructural facilities in all vital sectors. He asked the people to take care of all public utilities created by the government for their own convenience. He urged the locals to help in maintaining the park. The park will become center of attraction for thousands of people of Gandhi Nagar and adjoining areas, he said.
While speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi said the government will upgrade the existing parks where the people can enjoy morning walks and school children will be able to have picnics in these public places. She said it is the endeavor of the government to create such leisure utilities in the state to ensure a comfortable and healthy environment for the people. “Such facilities are the need of the hour in view of fast mounting urbanization besides stressful lifestyle of the people”, she maintained. She stressed upon the people to get involved in the floriculture activities in a big way.
The people adjoining the area appreciated the initiative taken by the Department on the instructions and hoped that more such actions will be taken in future also.
Earlier, Director Floriculture Jammu, Manisha Devi Sharma gave a brief account of Parks of Jammu City.
