Div Com (J) discusses arrangements for Jammu Festival

Jammu/March, 15: Stressing on highlighting the local heritage sites and culture during the Jammu Festival-2017, Division Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal said this mega event should optimally showcase the rich cultural treasure trove of the state.
He was speaking at a meeting convened to discuss the arrangements for the Jammu Festival slated to be held from April 13th.
The Divisional Commissioner while giving necessary directions to the concerned departments stressed on better synergy and ensure participation of civil society and other stakeholders to organize the event on a grand scale that shall attract the tourist in large number. He asked the concerned for making all logistic arrangements well in time and ensure wide publicity to the event.
He stressed on showcasing the local sites, traditional dresses and food in a better manner to popularise them among the visiting tourists.
Earlier, Director Tourism informed the chair about the events chalked out for the festival. It was given out that the event will be organized at M. A. Stadium and Mubarak Mandi where a slew of activities are lined up to showcase the rich culture of the state.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Director Tourism, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, DIG Jammu, Director Handloom, Joint Director Information, Joint Director Tourism and other officers.
