DEO Anantnag for strict compliance of MCC guidelines

Anantnag/ March,14: District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Anantnag, Dr Abid Rasheed Shah, Tuesday convened a meeting of officers and representatives of various political parties to take stock of arrangements for smooth conduct of forthcoming bye-elections for Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency.
ADDC Anantnag, AROs, representatives of various political parties and other concerned attended the meeting.
It was given out that notification for conduct of the bye-elections will be issued on March 17, 2017, filing of nominations can be made by March 24, 2017, scrutiny of nominations will be held on March 27, 2017, while as last date of withdrawal of candidature has been fixed as March 29, 2017 before 03:00 PM. Further, polling for the constituency will be conducted on April 12, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
On the occasion, the DEO called for strict implementation of Model Code of Conduct guidelines and sought cooperation of representatives of political parties in ensuring peaceful, free and fair elections in the district.
