No hope of reconstitution of the defunct Public Service Commission

[ April 17, 2015 ]
Dear Editor Though the new PDP-BJP coalition government sent the fresh panel for the appointment of Chairman and members of public service commission lying vacant for last more than six month but governor sent back the recommendation of the cabinet for the second time after he rejected the panel sent by previous Omar Abdullah led government.

Those recommended by Omar Abdullah were though qualifying as per merit, experience and integrity and obviously governor choose to turn down the recommendations of the erstwhile Omar Abdullah Government. Surprisingly governor conveyed his reservations for the recommendation of both the previous and present government. What kind of recommendation governor wants the state cabinet to make are not apparently known and better for the governor to make public his intentions over appoints of chairman and members of J&K Public Service Commission Tassaduq Ahmad Rather Pulwama Distribution of relief cheques Dear Editor It is good that government is showing lot of interest in distributing relief cheques among the flood victims in Srinagar and other districts of valley but such relief cheques are normally distributed by concerned Deputy Commissioner but not the chief minister. It is strange that Chief Minister chooses to distribute these relief cheques in presence of his ministers and top officials of the concerned district. Better it would have been for the government to directly credit the cheques to the account nos’ of flood victims already recorded by the revenue officials in almost all the districts of the state Farooq Ahmad Lone Magam Tangmarg
