[ February 12, 2016 ]
Islam teaches us through its two main authentic sources: The Glorious Qur’an and the Prophetic sayings that we can attain peace of mind, happiness, and salvation, by knowing and believing in the one true God (Allah) willingly and wholeheartedly. We must also believe in all Almighty Allah’s prophets including Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and follow their true guidance and teachings.
Thus, the gateway to a happy, content, and eternal life is through believing in and uttering this testimony: “I testify that there is no god but Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.” However, Islam tells us that belief alone in Almighty Allah and his prophets is not enough to have peace of mind, happiness, and salvation! We have to do the will of Almighty Allah through worshipping him alone and keeping his commandments. Submission to the will of Almighty Allah is the essence of the message of Almighty Allah. Confirming the true meaning of submission to him and the reward prepared for those who believe and do good deeds, Almighty Allah points out in the Qur’an: “Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds – they will have the Gardens of Paradise as a lodging.” (18: 107). Since muslims are obliged to be true followers of the Almighty Allah and the prophets, So a firm believer of Allah (muslim) means a person who submits his or her will to the Almighty Allah (God). Since muslims have firm faith in the Almighty Allah (God) and the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) , So it understood a fact that muslims are committed to do good deeds. The muslims are thus obliged to obey and follow the commandments that prophets taught and did, like believing in one God (Almighty Allah), praying, prostrating, kneeling down in worship, fasting, giving alms, and charity. These are just some examples and pieces of evidence which clearly indicate the truth, the unity, and the universality of this great religion of all prophets of Allah : Islam. Practically speaking, any person who is a muslim or would like to be a muslim, must believe in six articles of faith.
The spirit of contentment and tranquility in Islam is permeated by the obligation to look after one another, encourage one another to do good and prevent one another from doing evil.
So it is well understood a fact that Islam brings about a complete tranquility and peace of mind that is the result of realizing which one is believing and acting in accord with the guidance of one’s Creator - the Almighty Allah (God). This internal peace can then spread to the family, the community, the society and the world as a whole. It is a special form of tranquility that can only be produced by the proper belief in God(Almighty Allah). So Via Islam, the a firm believer of Almighty Allah (muslim) can tranquility and contentment and this would surely allow him to be at peace with others also. So it is clearly understood from the teachings of Ialam that only religion whic takes care of both this life and the hereafter is Islam and only. Thus the goal to contentment and tranquility for a firm believer of Almighty Allah (God) is not simply to spot breaches of peace and tranquility but to make the people realize and understand that they are part of a community and that they should be concerned with what is happening to the others. Thus, the spirit of contentment and tranquility in Islam is permeated by the obligation to look after one another, encourage one another to do good and prevent one another from doing evil. The better we understand the commandments of Almighty Allah (God) and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) the better would it be for us the firm believers of Almighty Allah (God) to attain contentment and tranquility in Islam.
