Continuing its efforts to reach out the maximum number of farmers in order to improve their Socio-economic status through Human Resource Development, Farmers Training and Education Centre (FTEC) Kashmir Division, organised two days workshop of farmers at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Malangpora Pulwama on 4th & 5th of November-2015 under Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Mission on integrated Development of Horticulture’’.
A Large number of farmers from the districts of Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama and Budgam participated in this workshop.
The farmers were warmly welcomed by Deputy Directorate Agriculture (Training), Manzoor Ahmad Hakim for their active participation and overwhelming response in this workshop.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Misgar Programme Coordinator KVK/ETC (SKUAST-K) Malangpora Pulwama. The farmers were imparted training with regard to the sustainable Agriculture production, disease/pest free crops, vegetables and fruits by adopting the integrated approach right from the sowing of resistant varieties, field sanitation, crop rotation, irrigation and fertilizer management, seed and soil treatment, Biological control of diseases and pests with the last option of use of chemical insecticides/pesticides by the scientists of KVK/ETC Pulwama.
The main aim of the training programme was to minimize the use of chemical insecticides/pesticides for the production of disease/pest free adopting the integrated approach.
